Medical Trolley — instructions for use
Model: IVTROL-828 | English | Rev 1.3 | 25 October 2026
Read these instructions before assembly and use. Keep them with the trolley. IVTROL-828 is a reusable, non-
sterile medical device for trained healthcare staff working indoors.

Intended purpose
IVTROL-828 supports and moves compatible medical equipment, infusion containers and treatment supplies
within the clinical workspace. The top surface, drawer, lower basket and fitted holders provide mechanical
support and storage near the point of care. The rear supports retain a compatible cylinder.
The trolley does not deliver gas, pump or control infusion fluids, administer treatment, monitor or measure a
patient. A mechanical holder is provided for a customer-supplied power strip or adapter. No power strip,
adapter or other electrical equipment is supplied. It is not intended to support or transport a patient.

The total limit and every local limit apply together. Do not add the local limits to the total limit or use
internal test loads as operating ratings.

Restrictions
Do not use for sitting, standing, patient lifting, walking support or patient transport. Use only on smooth, level
indoor clinical floors. Do not use outdoors, on stairs or on uneven or sloping floors. MRI suitability has not
been established.
Residual risks include tipping or falling loads, unintended rolling, pinching, snagged lines, sharps injury, cross-
contamination and hazards from customer-added electrics. Follow the load, restraint, brake, electrical and
cleaning precautions below.

                                                                                       ECI-IFU-TROL-828 | Rev 1.3 | Page 1

Safe use

Before each use
• Check that identification is readable, surfaces are clean and intact, and all joints and attachments are
  secure.
• Check all four wheels and both front brakes. Apply both brakes and check that the trolley stays stationary.
• Check that the integral ballast is in place, the cylinder restraints are secure, and the drawer, sliding holders
  and pole clamps function correctly.
• Use only equipment and containers that fit and can be secured in the supplied supports. Confirm their mass
and keep within the individual and total load limits.
• Keep cables and tubing clear of wheels and sliding parts. Stop use for instability, loose joints, a slipping
  clamp, faulty brakes or damage.

Stationary use and movement
Apply both front-wheel brakes during stationary use. Keep hands clear of sliding and locking parts. Do not
lean or place equipment on the extended side plate; it is for light treatment supplies within its 2 kg limit.
Before movement, close the drawer, retract the side plate and sharps-container holder, and secure all
containers and equipment. Clear tubing and cables from the wheels. Release both brakes and push slowly,
keeping the load stable. Approach small door thresholds cautiously; stop and obtain assistance if the trolley is
unstable. Do not force a loaded trolley over an obstruction.

Infusion pole and mounted equipment
Secure the fitted pole and its clamp before loading. The pole may carry up to 2 kg across its hooks and 5 kg
of compatible mounted equipment, separately or together, within the trolley’s 50 kg combined limit. Check fit
and retention of the mounted equipment. The trolley provides mechanical support only; follow the supported
device’s own instructions.

Customer supplied electrical equipment
No power strip, adapter or electrical equipment is supplied. Before clinical use, the responsible
organisation must assess the customer-added electrical arrangement. Where the combination forms a
medical electrical system, ensure it meets the applicable requirements of IEC 60601-1. Do not place a
power strip on the floor or connect another power strip or extension cord to it. Secure equipment and
keep mains cables clear of wheels, moving parts and liquids. The holder provides mechanical support
only and does not establish electrical safety.

Cylinder and bottle holders
Use both rear cylinder supports and the fitted straps. The cylinder, including its contents, must weigh less
than 20 kg. Do not use a cylinder that cannot be secured correctly. Follow the cylinder and regulator
instructions; the trolley does not control or supply gas.
Use the supplied 1 L bottle and its matching holder. Do not substitute a heavier container. Check retention
and remove a damaged bottle from use.

Sharps and ordinary waste
Pull out the sharps-container holder for use and retract it beneath the plate before movement. Fit the
compatible round 0.5 L sharps container. Follow its manufacturer’s fill limit, closure and disposal instructions.
Do not put sharps into the ordinary waste bin. The holder does not replace the container’s protective features
or instructions.

                                                                                     ECI-IFU-TROL-828 | Rev 1.3 | Page 2
